Audacity for PDAs (pocket pcs and palms)

In response from an email from Andy Black I got all excited about Audacity for PDAs. I was thinking, wow, Audacity on a handheld … cool. However, after having a look at the web site it appears that this Audacity for a PDA http://www.audiost.com/products.htm is not the same as the Audacity that I use as audio editing software.

Then I spent a little time reading, and thinking for an application. I think it might be a really good tool for interviews in the field. It allows you to capture and then include text tags within audio file. This might improve the quality of the analysis. However, a thought that did strike me is there a lockin issue with having to use the transcriber? also, you might need to plug in an external mic, PDA mic are a little poor? So when work is a little less stressful it will be worth an evaluation ;-)

Thanks Andy Black for that email
