A great development, SmartRSS (
http://www.beetzstream.com/Portal/Products/SmartRss/tabid/57/Default.aspx) allows smartphone users to read RSS and access podcasts on the go, and at only US$15 for the software.
I'd suggest that we are in desperate need of this type of software as it adds the extra dimension to the podcast – mobile learning topic. Similar to feederreader (Pocket PC) it gives the freedom to receive and engage with content direct to the mobile device, so breaking those shackles with the desktop.
A potential drawback is that it is an unsigned application so you need an unlocked smartphone to use it (so says – PDA Essentials).
Being the owner of a very un-smartphone I'll try to get some user feedback on how it works.
